When I first started petting fish, I thought that changing water in a fish tank was something complicated. It could be called a national problem. Imagine that the fish tank is beautifully showed in a living room as a decoration; but when it’s time to change water, we need to take the disorderly-coiled rubber tubing out of a bathroom. Apart from this, there are other problems, such as water spilled on the floor and oil from rubber tubing stained on the floor. To change water in the fish tank each time, the house might get mess. Also, this may be one of many reasons we don’t want to change the water so often.
However
These problems will be eliminated by drilling a fish tank! This method might make your fish tank look less beautiful. But, if you drill a hole under the tank instead of drilling in a front area like in the picture, a water pipe will be hidden below, and it’ll be indiscernible that your fish tank is drilled.
Some people may think that drilling the fish tank could cut down the price when reselling. However, you don’t need to think too much because drilling the tank for building a water transfer system can save more time—which is so worthwhile. It may be compared with when we have our cars install natural gas system. The cars might not be resold at a premium price, but they’re so economical on fuel while we’re using them. I think that’s the most valuable way, and it would be okay for us.
When we can change water in the fish tank more easily, we want to do it more often. When the water in the tank is always clean, our fish will be healthy and happy, and they will not leave us untimely. It sounds good, doesn’t it?
For me
If Black Diamond rays are in any tanks or ponds, I will change the water every day. As everyone knows that rays eat a lot, they normally defecate lots of urine wastes. Thus, often changing water is important for releasing wastes out of the fish tank or pond. After I drill the tank for setting the water transfer system, changing water in the fish tank is not the problem for me anymore—laughing out loud like a winner!
In fact
Drilling the fish tank doesn’t cut its price down too much. Some buyers like the drilled fish tank because they can continue setting up the water transfer system more conveniently and it’s easy for them to change the water. Just open a valve for wastewater, and then the wastewater will flows out. After around the 10-20% of dirty water runs out of the tank, we close the wastewater valve, and open a valve for clean water to let a new lot of clean water fill in the tank instead. See? It’s easy, isn’t it? That’s why I believe that there’s someone who likes to buy second-hand fish tanks with water transfer system installed.
After comparing the way I changed the water in the fish tank from then to now, I founded that…
Then
I kept fish in one tank. It made me waste more than an hour to do all these things which were taking out rubber tubing to suck up water from the tank, filling clean water into the tank, putting away rubber tubing, and cleaning the wet floor.
Now
I keep fish in more than ten tanks, but I can change the water in all fish tanks in one hour. So, I have more time to do other activities.
I hope that the story today will be helpful for you more or less; but after my article is shared, I’m quite sure that people who give services of drilling a fish tank and setting the water transfer system will be overloaded with work. Anyway, this method is great. Believe me!
And this is one of the stories of my favorite and money-made hobby. ^__^
