Many of you may worry about whether it’s hard to raise Black Diamond rays, whether it will be successful to raise them because of your limited time and routine work, and whether they will be healthy if you don’t take care of them as well as expected.

Today, I would like to share “my 3 secrets” of how to manage time for taking care of my Black Diamond rays to be happy and healthy. With these three secrets, my ray breeders have never been ill. If you want to know my secrets, let’s follow the content below!

1. Changing the water

My idea is very easy. If the rays are in any fish tanks or ponds, I will change the water in there every day! I’m not kidding. I really do that, or sometimes I leave the water in the tank for at least 2 days before changing it—which is the worst thing I’ve done. I’ve never left it longer than that. You don’t have to be in a shock because I don’t change the whole water in the tank. All I do is changing only 15-20% of water in the tank or pond.

If we build up a good water-transfer system, such as the overflow system, it will automatically help us change the water in the tank every day. With the overflow system, we have fewer tasks to deal with, and we don’t have to check the system frequently.

If you haven’t set up the overflow system or drilled the tank for the water-transfer system mentioned last time, you may spare some time after work for changing the water. In case of having 1-2 fish tanks, you will take about 20-40 minutes in the changing water process. You can change the water in the fish tank while reading, but don’t be so careless because your house might be flooded—I often experience that.

Let’s change the water more often! I believe that the cleaner house is, the fewer germs there are; and the chance of people in the house to get sick will be decrease. Like the fish tank, if the water inside is always clean, the fish will not easily get sick. Thus, it’s important to change the water in the tank as usual.

2. Feeding fish

Because I’m a salary man and still work regularly, there are only two times I can feed my fish—in the morning before work and in the evening after work. In fact, the fish-feeding process doesn’t take much time. It only takes around 10-15 minutes. That’s it!

My farm uses frozen tiny shrimps as a main dish for the fish. I start from taking the shrimps out of the fridge and leave them for 5 minutes to defrost. After that, I’ll spend 5-10 minutes to feed them for the fish in each tank and pond, and then everything is complete. While we’re waiting for the shrimps to defrost, we can do other routine work, as well. To say the truth, it doesn’t waste so much time.

3. Always keeping eyes on the fish

After feeding the fish, the last step is that I watch the fish in each tank and pond to make sure whether they all eat well or have any wounds and something unusual. This step doesn’t take more than 10 minutes. After that, it’s time for pleasingly watching the fish depending on the left time before I go to work. But, when I immediately get home after work, I will keep my eyes on them as long as I can.

The most important secret

From this step, we’re trained to monitor our fish whether they eat well every day or look strange. If there’s something unexpected, we can fix it in time, so the chance of our fish to get sick will rarely happen.

They’re easy secrets, and we don’t have to spend much time per day. People who are permanent employees like me can still pet Black Diamond rays as “money-made hobby”, as well.

And this is one of the stories of my favorite and money-made hobby. ^__^
